The old year is almost over – here's where to ring in 2024

Here are some Tucson events at which to count down the last moments of 2023 and greet 2024 with a smile.

New Year’s Eve Downtown Bowl Bash

  • Where: 41 E. Congress St. across from The Monica
  • When: Sunday, Dec. 31 at 6 p.m.

This event is the reason a large taco is dropped at midnight in Downtown Tucson. There will be live music with Warrant as the headliner, food trucks, beer stations and a silent disco. Aside from the taco drop, fireworks will be lit to welcome 2024. The event is free to attend.

New Year’s Eve at Westbound

  • Where: Westbound, 267 S. Avenida del Convento #12
  • When: Sunday, Dec. 31 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The outdoor bar in the MSA Annex will host a New Year’s Eve shindig with live music by The Rosano Brothers, drinks and a champagne toast at 5 p.m.

Noon Year’s Eve at Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

  • Where: Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, 2021 N. Kinney Rd.
  • When: Sunday, Dec. 32 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Noon Year’s Eve – although geared for children – is a day full of fun for the family. There will be a DJ, crafting with Lego blocks, face painting and improv by Prentendy Time. The Pima County Public Library will be giving out free books. There will be educational activities and art stations, and at noon, the museum’s giant monarch butterfly will “float into 2024.” The event is free with museum admission.

Roaring Twenties – New Year’s Eve Celebration

  • Where: Whiskey Roads, 2290 W. Ina Rd.
  • When: Sunday, Dec. 31 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The Roaring Twenties party includes party favors, a midnight snack and champagne toast, included in the $15 cover. There will be live music by The Unwound Band and DJ Gregg will keep the music going from midnight to 2 a.m. There will be drink specials during the event as well.

New Year’s Eve Dark Masquerade

  • Where: Surly Wench Pub, 424 N. 4th Ave.
  • When: Sunday, Dec. 31 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The Wench’s annual party is Dark Masquerade themed to bid adieu to 2023. Cover is $10. The hosts will be DJ NoirTech and DJ Stubbie. There will be a champagne toast at midnight.

Let Them Eat Cake at Hotel Congress

  • Where: Hotel Congress, 311 E. Congress St.
  • When: Sunday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m.

Hotel Congress’ New Year’s Eve party will be inspired by the Court of Versailles. There will be drinks, food, live music and a guillotine. At midnight, there will be cake and a champagne toast. Admission cost is $60.

Queer Year’s Eve at 191 Toole

  • Where: 191 Toole, 191 E. Toole Ave.
  • When: Sunday, Dec. 31 at 9 p.m.

Queer Year’s Eve will be a dance party to celebrate the end of the year. Dj MizSkoden and DJ Motion will be playing tracks. There will be go-go’s, a photobooth, vendors and food trucks on site. Cover for the party is $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
