Members of the public are invited to apply for two school board vacancies, in Catalina Foothills and Flowing Wells.
In the Catalina Foothills Unified School District, a seat on the Governing Board is available following the death of Boardmember Amy Bohla.
Pima County Superintendent of Public Instruction Dustin Williams said that Bohla, first elected to the board in 2014, was “the embodiment of dedication and passion.”
Registered voters who are 18 years or older and have lived in the district for at least one year have until May 10 to apply.
The term ends on Dec. 31 and a two-year term for the seat will be on the November ballot.
In the Flowing Wells Unified School District, a Governing Board opening is available because Tom Jacobs has resigned after nearly two decades.
Registered voters who are 18 years or older and have lived in the district for at least one year have until May 13 to apply.
The term will continue through Dec. 31 and the seat is up for election this year.
The deadline to file petitions to run for local school board is July 8.
