Celebrate dad this weekend in Tucson

Father’s Day is coming up this weekend. Here are some events happening in Tucson to go and celebrate the fatherly figures in your life.

7th Annual Father’s Day Car Show

  • When: Sunday, June 16 at 8 am.m to 12:30 p.m.
  • Where: Pantano Christian Church, 1755 S. Houghton Rd.

Pantano Christian Church is hosting their 7th annual Father’s Day Car Show. The show doesn’t only feature cars, it could also have trucks and motorbikes running for trophies. The church will provide a free breakfast or lunch from the cafe. The car show is free and open for the community.

90’s Country Night

  • When: Friday, June 14 at 7-10 p.m.
  • Where: Trail Dust Town Savoy Opera House, 6541 E. Tanque Verde Rd.

If dad’s down with celebrating Father’s Day earlier, Trail Dust Town is hosting a ’90s Country Night where you can go dance and enjoy a cocktail. The door opens at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 or free with dinner at Pinnacle Peak. This event is for people 21 years old and older only.

Song for my Father: The Music of Horace Silver

  • When: Sunday, June 16 at 5 p.m.
  • Where: The Century Room, 311 E. Congress St.

The Century Room’s Father’s Day event is family friendly. Musicians Brice Winston, Denali Hershey Kaufman, Max Goldschmid, Pete Swan and Scott Black will be playing Horace Silver’s songs from his album “Song for My Father” along with other hits by Silver. General admission for adults and children are $20 and $10 respectively. If anyone wants preferred seating, the prices are $30 and $20 for adults and children.

Night Wings

  • When: Saturday, June 15 at 5-8:30 p.m.
  • Where: Pima Air and Space Museum, 6000 E. Valencia Rd.

Night Wings at the Pima Air and Space Museum is a series of events where people can visit the museum at night. There are themed activities and discounted ticket prices. Twelve-year-old kids and younger go in for free. Everyone ages 13 and older go in for $10.

Picnic for Pops

  • When: Sunday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Where: Main Event Tucson, 4700 S. Landing Way

Father’s Day at Main Event Tucson is a day full of family-friendly activities. There are two time slots – one at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the second one at 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The picnic includes cheeseburger sliders, boneless wings, french fries, cinnamon-sugar donut holes and unlimited soft drinks. The ticket includes an All-You-Can-Play-Activity wristband for shuffleboard, bowling, billiards and laser tag as well as a Father’s Day craft station and a two-hour FUNcard for the arcade. The ticket price is $30 per person.

Father’s Day Flask Leather-working class and whiskey tasting

  • When: Thursday, June 13 at 6-8 p.m.
  • Where: Whiskey del Bac, 2106 N. Forbes Blvd. #103

Whiskey del Bac and Tandy Leather are hosting a hands-on activity to enjoy with dad. The led class will teach participants to sew and stamp a custom leather flask cover. Plus, there will be whiskey tastings and education as well as cocktails. The experience is $75 per person.

Dad’s Day Duel: Connect 4 Tournament

  • When: Sunday, June 16 at 3-6 p.m.
  • Where: Pueblo Vida Brewing Company, 115 E. Broadway Blvd.

Sign up dad for Pueblo Vida Brewing Company’s Connect 4 Tournament. The ticket is $10 and it includes the entry into the competition and a beer. There will be Pueblo Vida prizes for the top three places.

Chillin’ at the Chul

  • When: Saturday, June 15 at 6-9 p.m.
  • Where: Tohono Chul, 7366 Paseo del Norte

Chillin’ at the Chul are nights in the Chul where there is free admission for the gardens. There will be food and drinks for sale at the bistro, live music and nature-themed family-friendly activities, provided by the Children’s Museum Oro Valley. The gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Ghostbusters 80’s Dance Party

  • When: Saturday, June 15 at 9 p.m. until 2 a.m.
  • Where: Surly Wench Pub, 424 N. 4th Ave

If dad’s feeling nostalgic, take him for a spin at the Surly Wench. Dress up in your ’80s or “Ghostbusters” gear. Cover is $5.
